Have you been feeling like you are in a funk recently? Well I'm here to share the news that it is possible to change that! Welcome to Speak up or welcome back to Speak up where me your trusted social worker is here to help make your day to day life a little bit easier. Today we are going to start a conversation on how you can fix your negative behavior or mindsets.

As we are met with the ever changing world it is easy to spiral into a negative mindset. But don’t worry, you are not alone. The solution to this can be as easy as starting off by figuring out what exactly is making you upset, how it is making you feel, and how it could positively or negatively affect you. By evaluating these things it can help you end the negative feelings.

Let's start off by viewing the topic that is making us upset. When we do this we must evaluate is this a serious issue? Have you consulted this issue with others? Sometimes when we explain our worries with others it can give us another evaluation of what is really going on, or even simplify the issue enough that we realize it's not that big of a problem at all.

Next, let's focus on how the problem is making us feel or behave. For example, is something making us angry or sad? By doing this we can look into how this problem makes us behave overall and to others. Sometimes just by realizing how we are behaving towards others can be enough to make us work towards a solution instead of being stuck in a negative mindset.

Lastly, let’s focus on the consequences. This could be the consequence from our previous behavior or thoughts. Look into how your behavior from the issue could lead to a positive or negative consequence overall, is it worth it?

By evaluating these things it can help us regulate our behaviors and beliefs. When we look at the bigger picture, or even ask others to take a look into our issue. It can help us focus on if it is something that is worth keeping us in a funk or putting all of our energy into.
